The Income and Sales Tax Department (ISTD) in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship (MDEE). has introduced a multi-phase e-Invoicing mandate to promote transparency, fight tax evasion, and digitize VAT reporting. The system is centered around JoFotara, a national e-Invoicing platform for real-time invoice validation and reporting.
